My daughter is a 30 year old special needs adult that was first diagnosed with ITP in 2007. Her platelets at that time were 11, then 9, then unable to calculate. She was on prednisone, IvIg, dexamethasone and then Rituxin which put her in remission in 2009.

Fast forward.. She is having many headaches, tingling in her hands/feet/face, and she had a rash that looked like the lupus rash across her face. Blood work showed her platelets at 117 today, but when she was in the ER for migraines about 3 weeks ago it was 182. So, we are dropping I would assume and prolly not going to go back up? Yes, no? Also, has anyone had tingling and numbness in feet/hands/face without medications?

Thanks.

I do. Generally on just the left side. Comes and goes but seems to correlate with low levels for me. But really hard to say since I only recently got diagnosed. I had a ct which didn't show anything abnormal.

Has your daughter had further blood tests to check for lupus?

Tingling is not normal for ITP unless higher counts are causing problems. There can be several things going on that should be checked out.

When she was approximately 15 she had a positive ANA test for Lupus. Then she had a negative. We were told she could develop into Lupus. She hasn't been tested since but it to see her hematologist next week so thinking they will check into it. Her rash is gone now?.... Anyone know about the Lupus rash? Does it stay until medicated or does it come and go like this? She also had a migraine last night and had to take Imitrex for it. She just simply does not feel good right now at all.. :(

Lupus symptoms can come and go, including the malar rash. It is also possible for antibodies to come and go as you saw with the ANA. Migraines, tingling and ITP can be symptoms of APS. You may want to bring that up with her Hematologist and have her tested.
