Cholesterol Medicine was created by charlotte
I have had ITP for years and my count usually stay in the 30's. I have a history of high cholesterol in my family and my diet is not working. I have done some research and found most of the cholesterol medicines side effect are thrombocytopenia. I need something to lower the triglycerides and my diet isn't doing it.

Has anyone taken any cholesterol meds with low platelet count?

Charlotte:

I don't know if this helps, but most drugs list thrombocytopenia as a side effect. Any drug has the potential to cause a drop. All you can do is try it and see. Horrible way to experiment, I know.

There are some natural ways to lower cholesterol if you research it. It does work for some people, not all.
