It's been a few years since I was on this site, but I found the right forum I think. Can ITPer's take Xanax?

Glad you are doing fine and that you found the site again. My platelets have been normal and I also have fatigue all the time. Not sure what causes it.

DeeDee i agree, fatigue is nonstop, so difficult to get out of bed sometimes with the aches and pains, not to mention the migranes. Somewhere you have to look inside youself and and decide who is in charge, ITP or YOU! Somehow i manage to work 50-60 hr's a week (not to difficult, Sales Mgr)but at the end of the day i crash. It's causing a huge strain on my relationship, the ole you never spend time with me anymore! Uuuggg, I try to explain, but she just doesn't get it. Nobody really does until they have walked the walk. My Dr. has been trying to get me on SSI and I REFUSE to let this ITP control my life.

Hi Scotto,
I just attended the PDSA conference for the first time (we were going to be in Colorado anyway), and it was a real eye-opener. Hearing some of the stories. I agree with you; you can't let ITP control you; and I'm sorry to hear that your girlfriend doesn't understand. My family didn't understand the first time my platelets crashed. But, the second time, I got a lot sicker than the first, and they finally understood a lot better. It sounds like you have a good job, and I would try to hang onto it (compared to going on SSI).

Maybe she should go to some of your appointments with you, or attend some kind of ITP meeting.

Try to hang in there and good luck to you!
