Hi ya'll. I am a 26 year old female recently disgnosed with ITP. It is not very bad and my levels usually hang around 50,000. The only bleeding i ever have is in my gums/tongue. (i'm assuming this when my levels secretly drop). I am just curious if any of you also have PCOS. The strange thing is most women with ITP can have very strong and heavy periods. Me on the other hand, i rarley get my period at all. My doctors dont really know how to treat me for either conditon. The ITP is managable so no treatment is necessary and the PCOS is a mystery and is usually treated with metformin ( a drug that helps with Insulin Resistance). I however do not have IR, so they do not know what causes my PCOS. I feel like all my illneses are contraditary and confusing. I guess i am just wondering if anyone else has gone through the same thing? anyone out there with ITP and PCOS???

I also have ITP and PCOS. I just went to the doctors today to have hormone blood work ordered and I've got treatment #4 of 4 of Rituxin on Friday. I've been reading and researching all I can to see if they are related in anyway. So far nothing. I have seen that Metformin can cause B12 deficiency which can lead to poor platelet production so I am going to stay on B12 and discuss adding metformin.
