We were told that Mabthera is give once a week for 4 weeks (overall four infusions) and that's all. If within 6 months it does help, then after 6 months you can get it again. Is it an option to receive more than 4 infusions?

You mean more than 4 the first time? Studies have shown that more than 4 are not necessary.

I received 6 infusions in 2006. I got a 4.5 year remission from it. Last summer I again needed treatment and my Dr opted with the more normal 4 infusions. (I wanted to try 2.) So far everything has been fine. If Rituxan is successful, you probably won't need it again in 6 months. Gets expensive to have it so often.
