Can this be ITP? (pic) was created by acidking
I have these tiny bright red dots on my skin, I don't know how long they've been there but the first I remember seeing was less than a year ago and it's still there. They're so small so I doubt when did they appear in the first place or if they were there forever. There are very few of them, on my left arm there are about 6, on my right arm about 4, on my chest 1.

Here's a pic:

Most of them are so freakin' tiny, it would need a great deal of concentration to see, the one in pic is on my chest, it's the clearest so I was able to take a photo of it. Any idea what these are?

I am not on any medication, I am otherwise a healthy 28 year old male.

Thanks.

It's doubtful if it's been there for a year and it looks raised. However, only a doctor can really diagnosis you and beside, ITP or not, it may be good to know what's going on.

Nah, I don't think that is petechiae, which is caused by low platelets. Petechiae usually come in clusters and come and go.

This is a picture of typical petechiae:

My husband has a lot of red spots on him, looks like yours. They've been there for years and I always just thought they were red freckles or something related.

Probably angiomas. I've got loads of them for some reason.

I've had angiomas most of my life and since my ITP began I've gotten a lot more of them. It makes me wonder why and if there is a link, or if its just due to increased stress and blood presssure. When I notiice a new tiny angioma it gives me a brief scare, but as soon as I feel it to make sure it's raised all is well. My doctor told me angiomas are hereditary, which makes sense because my mother has them.

Strange enough, that one in the pic i posted disappeared after I started going to the gym again, although others on my arms are still there. So I think it's nothing to worry about. Thanks anyway.

Have you ever had your Platelets checked?

Is there a special test for that? or would it be in a normal blood test? Because I've had a complete blood test in Aug 2011, and before that on Jan 2010, for which all was the norm, but I never asked for a platelet count.

When one gets bloodwork, it is called a CBC for "Complete Blood Count" and the numbers of platelets is usually (always?) part of that test. So you probably had them tested (you can call the office where it was done and get the values). On the other hand, platelet values can drop significantly in a period of days, so your tests are not relevant to your values today -
