Those people are just classless and rude!

I assume your moon face is from prednisone.

I get moon face too, on high dosages of prednisone, but you can't stay on prednisone forever. It will go away when you stop taking it.

Good luck!

If you are on prednisone your moon face will go away once off it - it did for me.

I will tell you a story - when I was on 60mg of prednisone we moved from the US to Tokyo. By that time I didn't look exactly like my passport photo and my US driver's license - you could tell it was me in those photos but my face was so round and swollen looking in real life thanks to the prednisone. We went to get our Japanese driver's licenses and it was horrible, the man looked at my passport then looked at me, he looked at my US driver's license and then looked at me, this went on for a very long time - I wanted to cry, I knew I had a moon face, I knew my face looked like it was swollen but I had to stand there while he looked at my documents and looked at me. Finally, he approved.

Ignore those people rainlyn - they are ignorant and not nice at all! I agree with Tad and Erica, those people are rude - very rude!

I know I was [and still am] a beautiful person inside AND out - so the heck with those who ask rude questions and stare!!

It's bad enough when strangers stare; but you certainly don't expect it from family! My sister-in-law did that to me at a Funeral Home. I was mortified. So I just told her I was on high dose of steroids. She said "Oh" and walked away.

I have been really lucky, not one person has mentioned to me at all, i knew i had it too, but nobody commented on it unless i or my mother brought it up for some reason. People stare at me all the time anyway because i have short arms and my hands are turned in because i don't have a radius bone in my arms, so i am i guess not used to it, but in a way immune to staring. The only time i get really annoyed is if some kids just keeps staring and doesn't stop. I don't mind if people or kids look as i walk around, and i don't mind if kids ask me whats wrong with my hands, but to stop and just continually stare until i am out of their sight is something i find extremely rude and is my pet peeve. My sister usually stares them down if she is with me lol

People are just ignorant and i just ignore it and i don't let a few people staring ruin my day, so just ignore them.

Hi rainlyn,

My 10 year old son had severe moon face from the steroids, and I mean every single person who knows him said Oh my god, he's gained soooooooo much weight...of course it wasn't weight it was just in his face...now that he's on only 5mg/day his moon face is gone. Hem told me it would go away and it did.
Screw those rude people, I wanted to put a sign on my son that said, ITS THE STEROIDS!!!! But we stuck it out, they worked and it was worth it in the long run!...I hope.

I had the moonface, but i'd put the weight on so quickly that people assumed i was pregnant! when i said it was steroids i'm not sure who was more embarrassed, them or me - i then got a rather embarrassed comment like "i'm so sorry, it's just that you've filled out so much that i thought you must be expecting."

i still have pictures on facebook from my steroid days - my head was nigh on spherical, but i'll be damned if i was going to hide out of sight for 5 months waiting for it to go back to normal. i simply explained what had happened and people were ok with it.
