urine infections was created by elainefraser2
hey guys,

i was wondering if anyone was having or has had any problems with urine infections, i am on my 3rd infection in 5 weeks, i was looking at information on urine infections online and all of the sites said that there was a link between recurrent UTIs and people with immune disorders, i was diagnosed with ITP 4 years ago, my counts have ranged from 30 up to 140, my last haem visit was in december and my counts are at 70, they also discovered that i am deficient in vitamin b12, i dont see my haem again until april, i just wondered if anyone has suffered the same.

thanks

First, I'd make sure there is actually bacteria and they aren't just trying to retreat based on your symptoms. There is an autoimmune disease called interstitial cystitis that makes it FEEL like you have a bladder infection all the time. But in reality, there is no infection. It's taken me 6yrs, but mine is *almost* healed (I'm doing it naturally).

Second, if you are actually having recurrent infections you can use a powder called d-mannose daily and it will keep you from getting them (and heal them). It's 1 tsp. daily in applesauce or something like it. It has no flavor but works beautifully. You can also use it to treat UTI's. It makes the lining of the kidneys, ureters, bladder "slippery" so bacteria can't stick to them.
