Newly Diagnosed was created by kgspangler
Hi Everyone,
I just found this website and find it wonderful! I have just been diagnosed with ITP. My range however has been 80,000 to 120,000. My hemoc said not to worry unless I show symptoms (bleeding, etc) until I go down to 50,000. I will just get routine blood tests to follow up. My only symptoms seem to be bruising easily, heavy menstural cycle (4-6 days) and occasional nose bleeds. Does anyone else have any advice? Apparantly I have been at this low platlet level for the last 4-5 yrs, but noone has really caught it until now.

Thanks for listening!
Kathy

Kathy:

My only advice is to keep doing what you are doing. At this point, monitoring is your best bet. Most don't treat until they hit 20,000 or 30,000, so even at 50, you'd still have fairly safe counts.

Hi Kathy :) I'm with Sandi, keep on keeping on! Your not on any meds at all? That's great if your not!
