I just bought some herbs for my horrible sinus problems. I take a bunch of herbs all the time, but this bottle says is you are sensitive to aspirin or taking prescription anticoagulants should consult their physican. Does this sound like it could thin the blood a lot? I am between Hemas right now, and have no one to consult. My counts usually stay above 50k. Just curious. I am desperate to fix these sinuses!

Absolutely. Sounds like they are a responsible outfit. If you have a normal count then fine but if it's low, leave well alone.

Many herbs have that effect. I wouldn't depend on the bottle to tell me that, be sure to research them to be safe.

Be very careful. They indeed can effect platelets. I do herbs, too, so you will find out how it works. I stay away form gingko and a few others, but most do not seem to cause a problem.

What herb is it?

Have you tried using a netipot and a sinus rinse? The rinse is non-medicated ( I think it is just a saline solution) but flushing out your sinuses daily seems to help a lot of people. I've never tried it but my co-worker does it all the time and she loves it.

Here is a good link on the pack of research into ITP and alternative and herbal medicines:

I do a lot of herbs, too, and I do some on the warning page of this support group. Like garlic. But I do them carefully.

I have found colostrum to help but stay away from ginkgo and pau d'arco and several others.
