Prednisone was created by hoelscherd
She start Prednisone on Thursday. Yesterday her count was at 122 from 13 last Thursday. Tomorrow we visit the Hematologist. She is at 60 mg. Should we consider cutting back the Prednisone?

Thank you

Doctors usually dictate the taper. I'd see what he says.

I agree, I would just take the advise of the doctor. If your not gonna follow their advise there is no point going to see them.

I agree, consult with your dr (hematologist), however, the goal of treatment is to have a safe number of platelets. Once you are there, you are meant to taper down the steroid. If she stays at high doses, she may have a longer lasting response (eg. higher platelets for longer) but you have to weigh that with the negative effects of the steroid.
