Itp and factor v was created by dneaphen@comcast.net
I was diagnosed with itp 3 years ago steroid treatment then splectomy and now 3 years of declining counts. Just went through 2 high dose weekend dexamethesone treatments first weekend they dropped to 16 now following second treatment they are 750 but they took me off my blood thinner warafin for my blood clotting disorder. Yes I have been blessed with 2 bleeding disorders. Trying to keep counts up to perform bone marrow biopsy next week. I am on low dose lovenox shots right now but still worried about a blood clot. After my splenectomy my count went up this high and I got a blood clot in my portal vein. I am 53 year old female and just wondering since I seem to be baffling oncologist if there's anyone out there in my situation.

We have some people who are juggling low counts and blood thinners, but not due to Factor V. Clotting is not uncommon for people with ITP especially after splenectomy. I hope you get your counts under control soon....

dneaphen, what is confusing your oncologist? Something to do with your upcoming bone marrow biopsy?

It can be difficult to juggle them. You really need someone who knows what they are doing. Having major count swings like that isn't good, as you well know..
