A type of ITP which induces skin Dermatitis?

Thanks for the info Anne. I've seen a similar list on drugs.com. May end up reading this many times if it works. LOL, for all I know, I'll take it for one day and break out in an intense rash.

The 'adverse events' probability it really high for Danazol. One bad event that my hema mentioned is clotting. A study I saw mentioned adverse events occur in 20% of patients. Ouch, that's a big number! I don't recall any other treatment having that high of a number.

Promacta update 3 (32.5 days). After 14 days at 16.6 mg (50 mg every 3 days) count is 56. Well, looks like 25 mg, or a bit less, will get me into a 50 to 100 count range. Doc has changed prescription to 25 mg for first refill and am taking 50 mg every other day for now. Recheck in two weeks.

On a side note, I ran across this recent article on treating ITP with 'old therapies'. The section on Danazol has some good practical information.

LOL, is it too early to ask for a full bottle of Promacta for Christmas?

This is one heck of a conversation! Thank you for all of your posting & sharing. Interestingly, I had 8-9 years of intense itching on my shins and occasionally on my forearms. No doctor or dermatologist could ever tell me what it was. I had a biopsy and still no luck on diagnosis

I was diagnosed with ITP ~17 months ago. As soon as I started steroids (prednisone), the itching went away. I've only been off of it 2 or 3 periods of time during my diagnosis, and inevitably the itching comes back. I get a bag of steroids when I'm given IVIG to rescue me, and then itching subsides again. Wondering if you ever found a connection? 

Hope you've found ITP relief with Promacta. Unfortunately, I've been completely treatment resistant, including with Promacta.

There's so much good stuff you posted that I'm going to dig into tonight. Thanks again for sharing.
