Just two weeks to go on my steroid taper. This morning my husband announced he was felt achy. At 5 he vomited. I'm sympathetic, but also worried about catching the virus myself and losing all my platelets!

Can't say for sure that won't happen, but I've made it numerous times with 3 sick kids and husband and never caught anything.

It's only been recently that I catch everything being on Imuran and last year, Methotrexate. I did pretty good with just Prednisone.

Good luck!

Snap!
Similar situation here - Greg not well last night, has caught the nasty gastro going around from 'who knows where'. I am down to 5 mg pred. then hopefully next week 2.5 then OFF ! ! ! Supposed to be flying interstate tomorrow for a friend's belated 60th birthday celebration. Spent all morning trying to change flights - got too hard & expensive, so decided to go anyway, take my chances & stay at a hotel for a couple of nights till things settle. We were going to stay with my niece & her 3 little boys for the weekend but decided it wasn't fair to share the bug. Managed to get a last minute deal on the hotel - much cheaper than the hundreds of dollars to change flights.
Had a check up this am - platelets holding at . . . 59! Couldn't believe it - am very relieved.
Am spraying eucalyptus everywhere :silly: It's the only thing I know that frightens the little bugs away!

I find myself using those wipes in Walmart and the grocery stores to wipe down my cart handles. Never did that before. Viruses freak me out. But my count went up about 25 points, so I guess I don't have the virus yet. I go on 5/0 next week. Almost home free.
