My son is probably moving to Providence, RI for college, so we need to find a new hematologist. He will be 18 soon, so we need to move into the adult world. He has had ITP for 5 years. If anyone can help that would be great. Thank you.

We saw dr Weiner at Rhode Island hospital. He was very aggressive with treatments. We didn't know any better but I was treated with 100m prednisone bc my platelets were 65k. Twice

Sorry I don't know any hematologists in RI but I was wondering if you considered sticking with a Pediatric MD. Most pediatric specialists continue to see patients until they are 24 to 26 years old or married. I have found them to be more knowledgable about ITP. Also I just found "ITP Doctor Locator" on line. I see this topic is over a month old. I hope you have found someone. If not, good luck. Joan
