Last count was 99 before that 105. I have an appointment with a new doctor on 1/10/13 at 2:00, just hope this doctor listens to me and my complaints instead of looking at my tattoos. I'm self pay so they are giving me 40% off which the other doctor didn't discount anything. Just want a doctor to listening to me like so many people on hear do.

Thanks for listening Amber

That's ok Ann, you don't have to understand the American system of healthcare - just as we do not understand yours [like had my friend lived in England at the time instead of being an ex-pat living in Africa he wouldn't have been able to get in to see a doctor in the UK as quickly and his prostate cancer wouldn't have been diagnosed until too late - makes sense, if you are a citizen of England but live outside of England you are seen sooner...].

Amber I hope you and the new doctor click - give him a tour of your tats and then tell him it's time to get down to business and go from there :) Not going to tell you your count looks good, don't want to jinx you. Take care!

American Health Care is far from perfect. Basically, the more you can pay for your premium, the better the coverage and less the patient has to pay out of pocket. If you work for a good company, they can have a good policy. If you're not that lucky, coverage can be poor or none at all.

My insurance is $8,000 a year. In January, it's going up to $12,000 a year. It is very good coverage though and my expenses far exceed the premiums.

Ann wrote: Melinda, I don't understand your example at all

My friends have a house in Bath however he was working outside the country when he needed to see a doctor - he and his wife told us that had they been living in Bath it would have taken him a lot longer to get in to see a doctor/consultant but living outside the country he was seen sooner and his cancer was found - had he been living in their house in Bath he wouldn't have gotten in to see a doctor/consultant as soon [he had complaints but no one knew it was cancer so your 10 day rule wouldn't have applied].

No health care is perfect - but you do let us know quite often that our health care is horrible and you don't understand it. As I said, you don't have to understand it - just as I don't have to understand yours. So you know, you might let it go and not say it so often.

I didn't say your healthcare was horrible at all. But you've had it in for me for years and yes, you finally win.

Well, my mom found on 11/15/12 that she has congested heart failure. Both her parents died young, so we don't know if they would have had any heart issues. But now its in the family so I will let the doctor know when I go see him. Thinking of making the appointment sooner, having lots of joint pain and can't sit down for long periods of time with out my legs numb or lower back/hips killing me.
