My doctor can't figuar out what is causing my itp so he has me going to do a bone marrow biopsy to see if he can find something I hope. Has anyone had this test?

Yes, many of us have had a bone marrow biopsy although it's not necessary for ITP. You can't find a cause for ITP with any test, including the bone marrow biopsy.

I had one to rule out other possible causes of low Platelets. A BMB will not diagnose a cause for low Platelets, but it helps rule out other possible causes. Depends on the Dr. It sounds worse than it actually is. The area in nummed prior to the proceedure. It does feel a bit wierd when the marrow is being extracted. Site may be sore for a few days.
