New Here was created by beanerann
Well hello everyone!

I'm not really sure how to start this. I've been diagnosed for a few months now, and have been in the lower to mid 30,000s for the most part. I'm just writing to say that I found this site today, and it's helped me a lot. I'm a busy highschool student and I always feel like I have no one to talk to who understands how depressed and angry I am. It frustrates me to no end that I can't just go out and do what I always have. I'm constantly tired or sick for no apparent reason. I try my hardest and push and push, but then I crash. Seeing this site really made me feel like I'm not alone, and seeing other people coping with this nuisance so well really inspired me. So, thank you!

-Kathleen

Hi Kathleen!

I'm new to this site too, but not with ITP since I've been diagnosed with it 11 years ago. I cannot claim to know much about it though. Until now, I feel like a newbie to it all. I'm sure we can both learn a lot from the forums. I, too, have been feeling very frustrated lately. I easily get tired even when I have not done so much.

Are you currently on any medication?

Well I certainly give you props for having dealt with it for so long. But, no, my parents and doctors think its best to just try and ride it out and will only go to medication as a last resort.

Kathleen, the push push push thing is natural but with the fatigue of ITP and other illnesses it isn't always the best thing to do. Be kind to yourself and if you need to slow down and do fewer things in a day, then do so. Pace yourself as they say.
