So, just as I was sure that I had worked out the timetable that seemed to determine whether Dougie's count was up or down, that timetable seems to have disappeared. His counts since July have all been 30-34 - although he did have a week or so mid August when he got so randomly bruised that I was pretty sure it was lower. Todays count was 31 which is ok I guess - I keep trying to remind myself of this time last year when it was around 10 or something!
Roger's platelet count was fine at 151, but he is still lacking white blood cells - think the nurse said that his was 2.3 when the lower end of normal is 4.5. I am going to wait for the consultant to ring back, but I hope she won't be that concerned - when he had ANC of 0.5 she just said to keep an eye on it, and now it has improved to 1.1. In the whole 6 months that he has been having his blood tested, his white count has always been under 3.0, so maybe that is just him.
