I knew he was gonna drop...but he's 153k, still normal. His usual hemonc didn't see him, so he gave him the 2mcgs, which would be the protacol. Problem is he's supposed to have a root canal on Tuesday. I scheduled a platelet check on Monday at the hemonc. I suspect he might drop by then, in which case he won't have the root canal. I'm sure his regular hemonc would have given him a higher dose...oh well.

It would have been nice if they had given him a higher dose just to have higher counts for the root canal. I'm surprised they won't touch him unless he is at 150 or above. We've been told that 100 is sufficient enough for Caitlin to have more invasive dental work done. When she had her first extraction, her count was at 45 and this last time it was at 13, but I wouldn't consider the last one an actual extraction because it was extremely loose already. With the first one, she did have alot of bleeding, but the tea bags and the Amicar really did help. The dentist also had some kind of injection that he put into her gums right after the extraction to help slow down the bleeding. Keep us updated and hope all goes without any problems at all!

As expected, today he is at 120k just four days after his last count and injection of 2 mcg. The Hemonc says no procedure tomorrow. Tim is so unstable with his counts, that is, he can be 120 today and 1k tomorrow, that he does not take any chances. And once he falls its like pulling teeth (haha, no pun intended) to get his counts back up again. And, he has become a bleeder lately, so we have to be careful with him. We go back on Friday for a new count and a new injection. I expect him to be even lower, but I don't think much...maybe 80k...just a guess.
