Hi All,

My daughter is about to turn 10 and is on 8 months of her ITP diagnosis. As you all know and experienced, it's been a rollercoaster ride. I am wondering what is everyone's experience in acute ITP and it's remission. If you've experienced this, what were your physical symptoms before you were considered in remission? I am looking or literature that describe this, and have not found any. Thank you for your time

Nell - a person is considered to be in remission when they can maintain a normal count without treatment. Symptoms don't have anything to do with it. A person can also have a partial remission, which is when counts stay above treatment range without treatment (50k or so).

As a nurse I would describe complete remission as when the count is normal without any treatment and partial remission as a count remaining stable whilst taking a 'maintenance' therapy.
e.g. If I manage to get completely off steroids stay on 50mg of Eltrombopag daily and maintain my current count.

mrsb, is that the way they define partial remissions for kidney issues / kidney transplants, or ?
