It is possible that the MMR vaccine caused my daughter's ITP, I say possible because we don't know for sure, but it fits the time frame. My question is does anyone know if her ITP might return if she has a vaccine that might also cause ITP, like the HPV vaccines?

The official answer is that she has no more chance of getting ITP from another vaccine as anyone else but these official opinions do sometimes change with time.

On the MMR vaccine information sheet, it says to talk to your Dr. before receiving the shot if you have ever had a low platelet count, or have recently received a blood product. That makes me think there might be higher risk, but I am not sure. (I do know you didn't ask about the MMR, I am just sharing that one because it is a known side effect and mentions that)

Since her diagnosis following her kindergarten shots almost two years ago now, I now am more vigilant about reading the cdc material, because sure enough listed under moderate problems for the mmr shot is temporary low platelet count bleeding disorder 1 in 30,000. Before that I just relied on the abbreviated version the doctor's office uses which didn't include that, now I bring up her low platelet count history whenever she is having anything done, even the dentist, just as a precaution.

When reading about the risks of things you do have to make sure you know the whole story in order to be able to make an informed choice. For it is now said that the risk of developing ITP after the immunisation is about 1 in 22,000 while the risk of getting ITP after measles itself is estimated to be 1 in 3,000.
