He did very well from the end of July until now...a partial remission where his platelets were riding around 100k with no treatment. I thought it could last a little longer, and it might have but he has hit his head pretty hard three times this month-once falling off a skate board, another time got in a fight with his brother (why do teen boys fight to kill?!), and then yesterday he was in a car accident with a friend and hit his head. CT scan says no bleeding, but his platelets are at 19k as of yesterday. We are going in today to check again and likely get nplate...we'll see if he miraculously came up from that count. Five months of decent counts...although we have not had him checked since October-just been watching for symptoms.

Wow, BAAAD month! He's been lucky to escape unscathed from that - ITP or not. Hope your're not too stressed by it.

My eldest sons fight like that - very infrequently, but when they do, its like some gladatorial contest where only the victor is allowed to emerge alive...... Maybe its something about teenage brothers?

Glad to know my boys aren't the only crazies on the planet! We got a check today and he's at 17k today, so pretty much the same as yesterdays' 19k. He got a good scolding from the NP and Hemonc for not wearing a helmet during his skate boarding. He doesn't take advice well. He got NPlate and home for two weeks as long as he is stable.
