blood blisters in mouth

blood blisters in mouth was created by grasshopper
My daughter doesn't seem to have as many bruises as normal at the moment but I have just noticed a big blood blister on the inside of her mouth. She has never really had any before but it is something the heamatologist always checks for and.she seems to imply that it is a worse symptom of ITP. Should I be concerned about the blood blister? Should I phone the hospital and see what they say or get a count done or can I just ignore it?

Although my experience with blood blisters is not ITP related (it is MDS/leukemia related), I would recommend you get a count done. If your doctor has an on call, perhaps you can call and ask for an order to the lab to get her tested and see where her platelets are at. But in all reality, unless you're going to treat, a watch and wait would also be considered acceptable unless she's actively bleeding internally (noted by bowels, nose, etc.).
