My daughter Carina just finished a series of rituximab treatments about 3 weeks ago. She went to the doctor and her blood count was 157k as compared to last week of 297k and her hemoglobin was 9.4 same as last week. The doctor says he is going to check her immunoglobulin levels next week and if they are low he will start her on an IvIg treatment once a month to protect her from infections. I thought she wouldnt have to go through that again if she was responding to the treatment. Is that normal? I dont understand why they would have to keep giving her IvIg when that is what is causing her hemoglobin to go down and now has put her in the category of having Evan's Syndrome. Can anyone give me any information?? tina
