Danica's surgery date was June 7th. She spent three nights in the hospital. She just came home on Friday.
She had her gallbladder out at the same time (she had gall stones). She also had an accessory spleen. She has one incision just below her diaphragm, one at her belly button, and two on either side of that.
The surgery went well. She had IVIg on three separate days before the surgery. She still bled during the surgery, so they gave her blood.
She was really sore for the first two days, but was much better by the third day. She is still in quite a bit of pain, but is managing quite well.
She has very senstive skin, and reacted to the bandages that they put on, but thanks to good old Benadryl, that is resolving. (It also helps her to sleep).
I certainly hope that this will put her into remission.
We have to see her hematologist once a week for four weeks, and then once a month for three months.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
