Tim's counts today

He went from 7k on Monday to 90k today with IVIg. That's the biggest rise he's gotten from IVIg in years. Again,I attribute his "improvement" to the Rituxan, though it doesn't seem to have helped him (with higher counts on its own). He got 74 mc today (one per kilo) of Nplate.

He got so sick from the IVIg this time, like the first time he had it. Fever, severe migraine, nausea and vomiting. I finally went out and bought him some caffeine pills because his insurance is not quite processed in our new state, so I couldn't get him any hydrocodone. The caffeine helped a lot and he's feeling much better today.

One really cool thing about Children's Mercy in KC, is that they treat your kid regardless of whether you can pay or not. NPlate is incredibly expensive, as is IVIg, but they did not say one thing about him not being insured right now. They treated him with no questions or signed papers (the kind that say I am financially responsible for treatment). I think that's pretty amazing.

Good to hear his counts have gone up with the IVig, sorry to hear he had a hard time with it. It's good to hear they treat kids even if you don't have insurance.

Thanks! Yes, I knew that's always been the case, you just have to find the right place for treatment. Some places won't, but there are many that do. I've just never had to worry about it. Thankfully its just temporary.
