So last Thursday we went back to the hematologist for a CBC test and were ecstatic to find out that after the IVIg treatment his counts were up to 410,000!!!! The doctor said "I can't believe my eyes!" We were so grateful to find out his platelets had come up! the past few days we tapered off the the prednisolone and are hoping that everything stays good. I do have to admit that he is a little crazy right now I am assuming due to the steroids but I am sure it will go away.
I am hoping that this was just acute ITP and we wont see it roar its ugly head again, but I think I will still be on the lookout for awhile. I know this morning I was doing his normal look over for any crazy bruising or petechiae or the blood blisters in his mouth when I saw what looked like petechiae all around his ankles and o his arm. I sense of paranoia came over me and I grabbed the baby wipes to learn that it came off with the baby wipes. Who knew what it was with a 2 year old! I am sure it will take time and I will stop all of the worrying, but for right now I am just so happy his counts were up!! We have are having lab work done every two weeks just to keep up with it for now. Will keep updates!
Oh and today is Chaece's 2nd birthday!! Happy Birthday to my baby boy!!!
