That's up from 31k last week. I think that means we'll be holding at last weeks Nplate dose. I'll let you know if that changes, but I'm pretty sure. We are waiting for his meds right now. His hemonc said not a petecheia on his body. He said he thinks he can hit him this week, lol.

Oh donna - I hope that the NPlate continues to work for Tim. It is so nice to read about this improvement. For so long, the only counts we ever heard of from him were under 5K, so this is great.

Thanks everyone. He seems to be much more upbeat, less aggressive, a little hyper, more happy, etc. He still won't clean his room (do they have a treatment for that????), lol. But he does seem to be much more upbeat. He has been going through some stress because two of his friends moved away. One of them was a TERRIBLE influence on him, the other a bad influence, so I'm gland they moved (I've been praying them away). Now a few more need to leave. I'm praying some good ones in.

There is definitely a connection with low counts and moodiness, though. So, I don't know if this is a factor of having pressure taken off, or of his counts being up a bit. We'll see if it holds.

Thanks everyone for being there with us.

How are all your kids doing? Ali? Micelle? Deanna? dots?

Hey Donna - if it worked that you "prayed" the bad influences away, maybe try "praying" for platelets. Well, on second thought, you probably do that daily anyway.

Danica looks like crap - bags under her eyes and petechiae. They wanted to start the Decadron when she was between 20 and 30, but it is really hard to do that (she was probably around that on Friday, but we could not start the decadron on a weekend). I will check her today - no doubt that she is around 5!! She starts the decadron iv this afternoon.

Its funny how not all of our prayers get a yes answer. It seems not everything is so simple. God is not so simple, is he. People are not so simple either. That's why we just have to ride it out and trust that he is in control and continue to love everyone involved. I'm sorry Danica is not doing well. Those dark circles are so telling, aren't they. Tim gets those too, its seems to be a family trait, on his dad's side. His grandma and aunt have them too. For those on Rituxan, Timothy's grandma continues to hold fast at about 250k after a lifetime of low counts. Tim's uncle, the hemo prof at eastern carolina says that the older you get (especially old age) the body begins to stop making the anti-platelet antibodies in such large numbers and its easier to treat ITP. So after almost 50 years of dangerous counts 20k or lower, she finally has found a balance and a treatment (rituxan) that works. She is in her late 60s (age).

Just thought I'd throw in that bit of hope.

He probably doesnt even know how to act with counts this high. I'm curious to see how he does on it long term. The only person I know on it, still drops really low at times, but he's 85 years old, so it's hard to compare to a young teenager.
