immunizations was created by MomToHenry
My son is 16 months old and it has been close to 9 months since his diagnosis. He is receiving IVIg about every 5-7 weeks right now though his counts usually are around 20. It's been quite challenging to coordinate with our pediatrician and hematologist about the "right" time to get his immunizations (post IVIg, depending on counts, lack of follow through). It is really on our own initiative that our son is slowly trying to catch up with 1 shot every visit. The clearest message we have gotten is to avoid the "live" immunizations like chicken pox, etc.

I was wondering how everyone has managed to keep up with immunizations while receiving IVIg.

Much thanks and bountiful platelets to all!

We were told it had to be at least 6 month post IVIG for any kind of shots, uncluding flu for our 4yr. old.
