My sentiments exactly, LOTS OF PLATELETS IN 2011! Also, I want to share my New Years toast with all of you: "May the best of 2010 be the worst of 2011".....My wish for all of us!

Happy new year to you and your family too Deanna. I am hoping that platelets will be utterly irrelevant to all of us by the end of 2011, and that the kids are swimming in the things!!! In the meantime, how is Devyn doing?

Hi Ali,

We have all been doing well....other then being plauged by the flu/cold that is. Devyn got the worst of it but seems to be doing better. So now we wait to see what this will do to his counts....will they go up or will they go down. His last count was done in Nov and it was 110,000. He is due for another CBC this month so it will be intresting to see what this virus will do for his counts. I'm praying positive thoughts.....i dread these winter months so much :( I will keep you posted on his counts when we do the cbc.

How is everyting with you and the boys? Is Dougie staying within the 30 range?

Hi Deanna

 The trouble with this new style board is that no-one, but no-one, looks the same as I had imagined they did!!!! Its wrecking all the pictures I had built up in my mind - people I had thought were younger are older, people I thought were older look as though they are barely out of their teens, etc, etc! Your son is a real cutie :)

Its good to hear that Devyn is staying out of trouble anyway. I've kind of given up getting Dougie tested, partly because I find it makes me worry more about the whole ITP thing - I am happier ignorant! I would guess that he's been sitting around the 30's most of the time judging from the state of his legs, maybe with a dip into the teens or twenties this last month. Not too bad I don't think because he hasn't got really really bad bruises or spots. He got a good black eye in December after being hit in the face by a ball at basketball practice. I think the hospital will be sending us an appointment again soon because he hasn't been for a few months now.

And in that state of happy ignorance, we've spent a lot of time in the last month whizzing down hills on sledges - we've had more snow than for years. My sons all seem to have been born without a fear gene, because they go down frighteningly fast. Still, they've had a great time - really fantastic memories!

LOL, Ali...I have the same thoughts as you! I had already made up my own visuals of what everyone looked like!! :)

Glad to hear all is good right now with the oldies of this board since it has been almost a year since we've switched over to this form!

Glad Dougie is having the time of his life with all the snow! I'm jealous because we're having cold temperatures but a very dry spell! (Last year we were lucky though!)

Haha.....

I know what you mean Ali, I have also imagined how others have looked like and now with this new board it's nice to be able to put a face to all these ppl you have connected with :) I hope i'm one of the ones that looked younger then you pictured LOL.....

I know how you feel about not wanting to do tests all the time. I get very stressed and if you asked my husband very intolerble when we have to take Devyn for a test. Although i know it's best to keep an eye on it trough cbc's sometimes it'd really nice to have a break from them. Everyone says that it should get easier but i find the older Devyn gets the harder he fights :(

I'm so glad to hear that dougie is staying active. Hearing how active he is with ITP give me so much hope for Devyn when he starts adventuring into sports.

I hope the new year brings nothing but happiness for all of you :)
