Hello. I'm new here. My son was diagnosed with ITP just a month ago. Although his hematologists said that he does not have to avoid any food, i think that whatever he eats also contributes with his low platelets. Anyways, just wanted to know what snacks i can give my son? I give him strawberries, bananas, and oranges most of the time. Is peanut butter on a wheat toast ok? Thanks in advance.

Well, it depends on how far you really want to go with a diet change. There are no foods that are known to directly cause counts to go down, but several people have had luck with a gluten free diet. Diet changes do not work for everyone, but some people have had success and it can take a while to see results.
How old is your son?
