The drs aren't being mean or neglectful, they are trying to save your son from unnecessary medical intervention.....tests and treatment. Constant blood tests are traumatic and unnecessary. Treatments aren't nice and all carry some sort of risk. Most kids don't need treatment no matter how low their counts are. Most kids manage just fine with being a bit more careful than usual. And most kids RECOVER! I know it's scary but you need to try to focus more on symptoms rather than numbers. If he's not actively bleeding then it's not critical. If his gums or nose start bleeding he has blood blisters in his mouth, or if you notice blood in his urine or stools though, then you need to seek medical attention for him. Good luck, hopefully it will be a short lived thing
