Hi, first of all sorry for my difficulty to explain and find english words.
last 20 february 2014 my 3 years old daughter Lucrezia has diagnosed IPT with 13.ooo platelets.
Lucrezia has IGA <0,05, that's why ematologist decided to start directly with corticosteroids treatment (2mg per kilos), after withdrawal spinal cord, in fact they said Immunoglobulins could give her troubles and hard risks.
After only 3 days of that dose (35mg per day) platelets count 60.000 and we was very happy about result.
But now after 5 weeks and gradually reducing the dose (less 5mg per week in last 2 weeks) platelets at the same time gradually are receding till Yesterday 17.000.
Now ematologist says we could start with Immunoglobulins treatment... I'm really confused, hasn't it risks for my daughter any more? They said that after corticosteroids treatment she is stronger and can tollerate Immunoglobulins but, we're afraid.
Have you on your side any suggestion?
I'm not able to have clear answers to our questions, ITP seems to be a foggy patology with no certainty on time, treatment and result.
I know she will recover, I'm sure of that but I'm so sorry of seeing collateral effects on her, even if she is a very strong and joyfull girl

Thanks a lot from Marcella
