Well, at least you know why you were so tired. Now you can treat it and hopefully, feel better!

My daughter's thyroid peroxidase was over 1,200. What is your TSH?

Good news on the biopsy results...1st nodule is benign, 2nd biopsy was undetermined due to not enough cells collected but they think its benign as well. They want me to follow up with another ultasound in 6 months to see if there are any changes and if another biopsy is necessary. I was a little worried because we kept playing phone tag with the dr and noone would release the results to me when i actually got through. Finally got the message that everything was ok. Going to go fill my prescription soon and hoping it helps.

Glad to hear the biopsy result for the 1sst nodule is benign and that they will be keeping an eye on you.

Thanks! Im glad the biopsy results are normal too but now im concerned about something. I started taking my throid medicine yest morning and then last night, after choking on something that went down the wrong pipe. I was just rubbing my throat and i felt a lump and i think it is one of the nodules. Before, the dr cldnt feel anything and the biopsy had to be guided by ultrasound. Now, there would be no trouble with her doing another procedure without an ultrasound because it is about the size of a nickle and you can see it now if you look at my neck. Is the thyroid medicine supposed to make it grow before it shrinks? (i was told to take this med in hopes of shrinkng the nodules.).

Im also thinking i could be mistaking this lump for a lymph node. I got my flu shot yesterday and i know your lymph nodes swell when its fighting infection but this is hard and doesnt move. It is directly in the center, lower portion of my neck and it looks like i have a low adams apple. Where do our lymph nodes swell when sick? ( not sick right now)

Pauline - the only thing I know is that it takes time for the nodules to shrink from the meds. I doubt it would have grown or shrunk any after only a day of the medication.

We have lymph nodes all over our bodies, so I couldn't tell you if it was one or not. Maybe call your doctor Monday if it's still there.

Pauline I don't think one pill would make a nodule swell. One node of my thyroid was enlarged when I was diagnosed with Graves and it did go down but I can't remember how long after treatment begain that I was told she [endo] no longer could feel it.

If it's still there Monday I'd call and let the office know about it and see what they say. The other thing is you could call the service and see if your endo is on call this weekend. I would call for sure if things change or you are having trouble swallowing.

Holli's goiter has still not gone down. She's been on treatment for 2 years now. It may have shrunk a little, but not much. It was pretty large to begin with though, very noticeable.
