I've been dealing with ITP for years but not really been treated on regular basis. Over the past year I have had issues and treatments have not worked. Now I am going for my first Ributixan treatment and am scared. I have not told anyone that I am nervous, but it is a serious drug. I have read on this site people's experience and people have been thru a lot worse that I am going thru, but is it ok to still feel....nervous, scared, and afraid?

Of course it's okay to feel that way! I was the opposite and didn't worry at all. I should have taken the whole thing more seriously. I didn't realize the harm that these drugs could cause back then. However, most people do fine and have no side effects at all, so there is every reason to believe that you'll be fine.

My husband had Rituxan and had no ill effects at all from it. We made a day of it. He ate lunch, had snacks and watched TV. Of course, the nurses hover over you just in case there's a reaction of some sort but that's to be expected and appreciated as well. It did not help him, although IvIg is the only thing that does and he only has that prior to a surgical or dental procedure no matter how minor. Other than that, he chooses not to treat. His platelets can fluctuate anywhere from 18k to 30k.
