Hey there, My name is corrie and I’m a mommy to a beautiful little 31/2 year old. She had a weird rash and I knew something was off. Today she was diagnosed with ITP. Doctors are claiming chances are it has been caused by a virus. Her count is 9. They sent us home because there are no bleeds at this time. I’m terrified and just need any advice or comfort any of you could give.
Thank you

  • ITP since 2014. Retired nurse. My belief is empower patients to be involved as much as possible in their care. Read, read, read & ALWAYS question medics about the evidence base they use.

If she has no symptoms such as bleeding I suspect the doctors are applying a wait and watch approach to see if she spontaneously recovers.

Thank you, how careful should we be with her? I am afraid to just let her walk. I don’t know how extreme we need to be with her. She wants to dance no jumping just dance and I’m afraid to let her.
Thank you again for any advice.

The main problem would be if she would hit her head. Don't let her jump or spin around, but simple dancing should be okay.
