What Ya'all Been Up To?

Hey Everyone!

What have you been doing with yourselves as summer (USA) winds down (Canada does not have summer ) and fall approaches?

I am back to running a little, just started again, and I have been cooking and cleaning and getting ready for winter. I detest winter! I say let the bugs live! Your car does not get stuck in heat, heat does not stain your shoes, and you do not have shovel heat!

Glad you're doing so well - you must have a little battery pack hidden on you somewhere!

Down here we are preparing for harvest - the season so far has been fantastic & we have some great crops of wheat, barley, lentils & canola to reap shortly. Have crutched the sheep (tidied up their bottoms to prevent fly strike) & will take the 2 alpacas to be shorn tomorrow.
Lots of community meetings as the seasons change over (winter > spring). So far a very strange Spring - very windy, cold & wet. Hanging out for some calm, sunny days.
Expecting another grandie in March (have 7 little boys so far )

There is a group of local young men riding their bicycles from Melbourne to Adelaide then here this week to raise awareness & funds for autism. Unfortunately they will experience some strong winds on the way.
In the veggie patch snow peas have finished, cos lettuce trying to outgrow the snails, kale going mad (I dehydrated & froze some to experiment preserving it) & onions still going. Self sown tomatoes need relocating.
As for the little platelets, I've come to realize that for me fatigue is a symptom & I'm assuming count is low as I'm struggling a bit lately. Will get a test done soon.

Always a pleasure to hear from you! You make me smile! Today I picked the last of my grape tomatoes. A sad thing! My lawn is beautiful. Unfortunately it is needing mowed twice a week. It has been very unseasonably warm here this fall, but Mother Nature will level it all out! The large farms are harvesting some corn and a lot of soybeans right now. I have a couple of clients that are biofuel refineries and they are very busy. Good thing!

The family here is well. Nothing outside of the ordinary. I stay in perpetual trouble! LOL I just don't care! LOL

I have to go to our regional office this week so that will be interesting. It is in Detroit, MI.
I will try to take a couple of pics for you to show you where I live.

Jeffrey, I think you need a lesson on Canada; we do have summer. :laugh: We had a pretty good one this year! Just so you know, we don't all live in igloos! :lol:

Well Detroit should be buzzing with the baseball playoffs. I have been busy watching all the baseball playoff games. Am hoping my Red Sox beat the Detroit Tigers Tuesday!

I missed most of the summer as I have been working full time nights. So all I do is work and sleep and work and sleep.

That said think Jeffrey is going senile. He's forgotten about his comment on my sun burn and spots. It is called summer and extreme heat! lmao

Glad you are up and running again! I like you detest winter. Today the sun did not come out and I was already getting depressed. However, I started Promacta 3 weeks ago and my counts were 258 this week! They probably will need to lower the dose but my doc said since I haven't had a week away from the doc since dec to take one. I don't know what to do with myself this week? Bungee jumping, hang gliding, ice skating, getting a tattoo who knows so many possibilities. I probably will end up being lame and working out and baking a chocolate cake to celebrate...but hey it's better than going to the doc right? Maybe I can end up with monthly appts and live it up more often! Fingers crossed!

Good for you! Great numbers! If I remember correctly aren't you in Cincy? Chocolate cake? Where?

I am in Cincy! I used to bake when I had time. It seems crazy but I haven't baked in over a year. Between work and finishing a master's and all of the doctors appts, running a household, and then the days of laying on couch I just haven't had time. So wed I will not go to doctors and bake a cake to celebrate!

If had those numbers I would have some cake too! Chocolate is my favorite! Please do not tell me that it will multiple layers with an excess of icing! Please do not tell me that! LOL
