A friend recently gave me some back issues of the International Express (a weekly newspaper for English expats) The Feb 9th 2010 issue had a full page article "Tennis Rival saved my life" The tennis player mentioned he had unusual symptons etc etc (been there done that!!) and by process of elimination they found he had ITP. There was a description of the disorder and the treatment he had (steroids and gamma)) It was mentioned that a new drug was being devoloped ROMIPLOSTIN (I have never heard of this)
"It is an exciting treatment that was very effective in trials" says Professor Newland.
BTW I seem to send messages twice without realising it: see gardening! so I am apologising in advance.
