Hi, I'm back under a different name. For the ones that do not know me, I am Diane, I live in Pittsburgh, PA and have been in remission from ITP since 2002. My platelets have been normal since I was put into remission. My platelets stand between 240K and 610K. My other ailments have taken a bad course. One ailment has taken a wrong course and it is stage 2 lung cancer.

I am looking for old friends, as well as new friends. Hoping to find other people with ITP so I can help out when needed. I am 35 years of age and living with my mother. Also, yes, I am a steelers fan.

Hope to make new friends on here as well as old friends. B)

Hi:
I'm Debbie and from West Coast of FL. I've had ITP for 22 years, had 1 long remission and several shorter ones. Currently in the middle of Rituxan series, last count (today) 50,000, hope it continues upward. Even if it would stay here, that's okay. Welcome back!

Hi Debbie.. It's nice to meet you.. I tried IV Immunoglobulin but had a very bad problem with it.. I woke up a week later in a hospital bed. Good luck with the Rituxan. Also, thanks for welcoming me back.

Hi Diane,
I remember you. Very sorry to hear about your newest diagnosis - my thoughts are with you and I hope all goes well for you! I take beginning tap dance [senior class :) ] and in the advanced senior tap class is a woman diagnosed over 3 years ago with lung cancer, I started class 2 1/2 years ago and she already had some time under her belt with the cancer - it hasn't been easy for her, as you know, but she's still tap dancing and line dancing and I just love to hug her whenever I see her because it tickles me she has beat this so far. I hope the same for you!

Is that a cat and a dog in your photo?

You will be a big help to those here - glad you are back.

Melinda.. did you go by another name on here before? I'm glad that you're taking a tap dancing class! I used to do ballroom, hip hop, salsa, latin and almost everything except ballet and tap.

I am glad to be back!

Nope, I've always used Melinda here and at the old site although I know some called me some other names ;)

Diane I can't get my feet to do what my brain tells them to - a dancer I'm not. However I remember how much fun tap was when I was a kid and always wanted to do it again, saw the class offered at our rec center and thought why not. I really enjoy it and the friends I've made.

I have a friend that lives 10 minutes from Kennywood. They own a car lot on that strip. I've spent a lot of time at Kennywood over the years, but haven't been there in a while.
