Anybody else waiting out the record breaking storm? We've got 13 inches of powdery snow in the Minneapolis area already, the airport is closed, city buses have given up, the temperatures are still dropping and snow is falling still and blowing hard sideways. We cleared the driveway four times so far today and you can't even tell.

It didn't start snowing until late last night so I think most people got home safely and were able to stock up if they needed anything. I haven't seen reports of power outages.

Looks like everyone on my street is waiting until tomorrow to dig out. It should stop snowing tonight, and will be slightly less windy tomorrow although temperatures will only reach a high of around zero F.

oh boy....I hope it's not headed this way. I think it is though. UGH! We moved away from the Lake effect snow in the Cleveland area for a reason!

Hi Erica,
We have 2 'American families' via student exchange in Wisconsin, & Minneapolis. I will contact them shortly.
Our daughter & her husband went to her 'sister's' wedding in Lake Geneva, in August.
And my husband's 'brother' is coming to Australia in February to visit us after 42 years! We are very excited.
Stay safe, with warm wishes,
mj

MJ,
You reminded me of this story - when I was little my grandmother had an exchange student from Japan who studied chemistry and lived in the upstairs of her house. Almost 40 years later I took a trip to Japan and looked him up before I went. Masahiti was happy to hear from me and showed us around Kyoto - he is a retired chemistry professor now!
