I can relate! I always had unexplained bruising a week before my period. If I saw a bruise, I knew it was on its way.
I had a hysterectomy almost two years ago, which was long overdue and something I wanted since my 20s. I had horribly painful periods and severe bleeding (along with ovarian cysts, fibroids, endo, etc.).
I’m 45, and over the past few months I have had extreme bruising - much worse than ever before, and covering my legs. It’s actually quite concerning. At the same time, I’ve started having hot flashes at night. I’m due to see a hematologist next month as my PLT count is 70,000, although it’s always ranged from 65,000-110,000, so I don’t know why that would cause bruising. I do think that the arrival of peri/menopause has something to do with it. Your question is interesting to me, because I’ve always noticed that hormonal-related bruising, but nobody can ever tell me why.
