Time to try homeopathy

Time to try homeopathy was created by dbtkrieg
Hello everyone. I’m pretty new to this forum, but I’ve been lurking around for a while figuring everything out. This place has been insanely helpful! I was diagnosed with ITP in April of this year with counts of 13k. I've done the prednisone roller coaster twice, and now have done WinRho twice. The WinRho barely worked this last time, and I'm sick of poisoning myself (not to mention how awful the side effects are to WinRho – I swear I get every side effect and then some). I have seen a naturopath and have been put on way too many supplements (that I don't like taking), and have had a lot of expensive tests done, but it’s all just a temporary fix. I'd really like to give homeopathy a chance now. I’m in Maryland – does anyone have a good recommendation for a good homeopath? I am ok with meeting over the phone or skype, so location may not be an issue. I tried messaging April but haven’t heard anything yet.

I don’t think I can thank all of you enough for all the posts on this forum! I’m not alone in this anymore!

Hi Jenny,

Did you put "homeopathy" in your subject heading to April? Sometimes her mail handler will kick it to spam if it's not marked or she's never received mail from you before. I'll ask her to check her spam folder. :) She *normally* responds within 48-72hrs depending on her schedule. If you want to work with someone closer to you she may know of someone (I have no idea) but I will tell you she treats LOTS of ITP patients so she has good experience that way.

I'm excited you've opted to go this route as I think you'll be very happy with the results (and its lack of toxicity!). Be patient and remember that healing takes time. If you can do that, you're in good shape. :) Keep us posted! My boy was at a beautiful 155K this week. :)

Hi Patti,

I did put that as my header. I figure it got stuck in spam or something, who knows. I've heard such good things about April that I feel she should be my number one choice. I'm also excited about homeopathy, and I can't wait to see it working.

A bit about my platelet count: I went up to 186 after my WinRho treatment last month, and within 3 weeks it fell to 101 and I can tell it's lower already, a week later. The last time I did WinRho (while also on prednisone) my counts went up to 371 and stayed in the normal range for 2 months. I had to get treatment last time when my counts were at 50, as I had soooo many bad symptoms and I couldn't hardly function.

I sent her a note to check her spam folder. :)

We had to work through the IVIG and prednisone Luke had so your body may have to work through what you had as well but with persistence it will happen. :) Can't wait to hear how it all plays out for you.

Hi Jenny, welcome. April has been treating me too. She was able to get me off steroids, my counts bounced around a lot but now I'm in the 30's. My progress is quite slow but I'm making progress. Was on prednisone for a year and took a lot of infusions too prior to homeopathy so that could have slowed down my progress too.

Who is April? Is this someone I could talk to about my son?

This is the stuff that drives me crazy
This is the stuff that's getting to me lately
In the middle of my littleness
I forget how big I am blessed
This is the stuff that gets under my skin
But I gotta trust You know exactly what you're doing
It might not be what I would choose
But this is the stuff...

She's a homeopath that has treated many people with ITP, among other issues. I just started working with her and so far I'd say she's amazing. :) Do a search in the forum for her name and you can send her an email. I definitely recommend you contact her about your son.

As an update, it has been a bit over a month since I started my remedies and I'm already seeing an improvement. My counts went up by 20 after a few weeks, but the real improvement is in how I feel. I haven't had a single bruise in weeks (that hasn't happened in as long as I can remember). I feel a bit better in general, and I know I'll keep getting better. I can tell that we reversed some of the lingering side effects from the prednisone. I have been sleeping like the dead, and love it! If any of you are thinking about trying homeopathy, go for it! It can't possibly be as bad as conventional medicines and their horrible side effects. :woohoo:
