Hey there,

Just wanted to pop in with Luke's latest counts. He was at 136K yesterday and his minerals were the best they've ever been (he's always been way low). We will be 1yr using h-pathy in August. Just wanted to encourage you all to stick with it. We were very up and down in the beginning (not less then 35K) while his body started healing but haven't seen the high ups and downs since about month 5 or 6. Hoping you're all doing well and healing up! Hang in there and run with patience. :-)

Thanks Patti!
I'm still waiting for an 'up'... though I haven't had any real 'downs' either (In terms of counts)... It's been stable, though, and that's saying something I suppose!
How long did Luke have ITP before trying hpathy?

Hey there,

I don't know if I classify Luke as still having ITP - although his platelets are just shy of "normal" right now. We have not been followed by a hema since Sept. of last year (our naturopath took over that responsibility and we haven't seen him since Nov. of last year). He was dx on 5/4/10 with no platelets (as in ZERO). He sat at zero until the end of July when we went to homeopathy as our mode of treatment. So we were 3 months with failed IVIG and almost bleeding to death on prednisone. We started the h-pathy on 8/1 and had platelets by 8/15. They went up and down quite a bit (although never lower then 35K) for about 5 months and have steadily gone up since. So, I don't know how long you'd say he had/has ITP. He didn't have it long before we started the h-pathy (although it felt like forever!) but he also had no platelets at all so we didn't have much to work with in terms of allowing him to try and live "normally" during that time. If that makes sense. Before we got away from the hema they basically said he'd never get over it because of his long term (9yrs at that point) issues with his immune system being already damaged. One ped. hema offered a bone marrow transplant.

Well, I have been on homeopathy since last November. This was the only treatment that helped me get off prednisone as every attempt the year before that to get off prednisone had failed. As soon as I got off prednisone platelets dipped to 10 but started picking up slowly after that. I was getting counts in the teens also while on prednisone, so it wasn't helping much unless when taking higher doses like 40mg + which were very brutal to my body. I'm so glad I'm off prednisone...infact everymonth I celebrate being off them. I'm 7 months post prednisone and my body is managing to come back. I'm now at 31 platelets (as of 2 weeks ago). Slowly but surely I have been going up. I usually get 2 weeks of a lower number say in the 20's and a boost to the 30's and then back to the 20's.

I still have very high hopes for homeopathy as I have seen positive changes on my skin and symptoms have really improved. It's the platelets I'm after now :-)
