Anuja,
I would love to see what you find out about fluoride. As often happens, a statement on this board sent me off to research as well so I've been reading a bit on fluoride and platelets. The medical research I found is so dense I haven't been able to make much sense of it.

Another possible consideration with toothpaste is the artificial sweeteners such as sorbitol and xylitol. Especially in young children who might be swallowing more than they are spitting. Some people (myself included) get some bad gut reactions to the '-tol' sweeteners, which can lead to inflammation which can exacerbate some platelet problems.

I take Vitamin C with the D for absorption purposes. I take calcium and magnesium separately (well, my calcium also has D in it).

Ah. Okay. Our boy was the same way. He wasn't absorbing any minerals/vitamins for so very long (years). He's doing well absorbing now but it took a lot to get him there. I still have him on a liquid multi/vit. mineral to help with absorbability but I was able to cut it in half recently as he absorbs more from his food. Malabsorption is difficult to deal with.
