I'm getting my wisdom teeth out soon and just went in for a count a few days ago. Still waiting for results, hopeful...

Also, I accidentally posted in wrong forum. How do I correct?

Good luck with the wisdom teeth! I hated getting that done. I don't know of any bad stories about getting them out though. I'm sure it will be well with you too! You have to wait days to get your CBC results?

I can move it for you - where did you want it? It could stay here - won't hurt a thing.

I had my wisdom teeth out while dealing with ITP. My counts were 100 at the time. I didn't have any problems at all. I did have a major count drop a few weeks later though; I have no idea what caused it. I'd been taking a lot of Advil for inflammation, but I don't think that was what did it.

Ok so turns out counts are about 78k, which is ok, i guess. Doctor wants to put me on medication just for 5 days that reduces bleeding in mouth, which also sounds ok. I kinda wish I didn't have to do it though.

Oh don't we all! I was in my 30's when I had mine out (about 10 years ago). Actually, it turned out to be a nice respite from work. I remember being bored. I haven't been bored since.

I had mine out way back in Junior High, long before the ITP. Had them done once a week for 4 weeks(missed my sewing class) Are you getting yours out all at once? Good luck.

It's happening tomorrow!

They put me on some sort of drug for a few days after today. I think it's called amicar. An hour before I get the teeth out, I will eat several tablets, and have more a few days after. I'm annoyed at the mere thought of ingesting so many tablets for now...oh well.

Good luck! I had mine out when I was 22, years before the ITP diagnosis. You'll feel better if they are impacted and causing pressure on the rest of the teeth. I had one socket that bleed quite a bit even after I got home, so we called the oral surgeon and he recommended packing a tea bag against the socket. It worked for me. Something about the tanac acid in the tea that helps form a clot.

Well the procedure went fine. I've been staying on the couch after that, and had ice cream for dinner. Hopefully it will be even better tomorrow. Thanks for all you kind words!
