Finally was created by kungpaokitty
I started N-Plate 2 weeks ago. The results were amazing! I actually had a platelet count that was normal, 160, after just 1 shot! I have never always been 100-130 and way under. I am so excited about this. Every other treatment I have been refractory to. I can't wait to see where my counts are when I visit my doc next Wed! I have had some bone pain, nothing major and a headache periodically, but I can tolerate those for a normal count. Yay!

*** Update ***

Went to my haemo today for 3rd N-Plate shot and platelets are 238!! I have never ever in my life had a count anywhere near that high. I am still just amazed that there is a treatment that is finally working!!

yea! that's a great count! Did you get the shot again? My doc told me that if my counts were up that high (over 200) with the NPlate that I didn't need a shot that week.

Just got done at haemo and counts were down a bit, 187,000, but still within a normal range! I'll take anything over 75,000 as a victory.
Side effects suck a bit; bone and joint pain and nasty headaches and some numb/tingles in my hands. Still better than low platelets with the only thing to look forward to being prednisone or those chemo drugs. I've been through everything else and am hoping and wishing that this is it!

That's great news! that is a wonderful #! I'm glad for you too that the bone/joint pain isn't to much. It was more than I could handle on NPlate, and I wouldn't go back to it for anything, even a "normal" count!

Well last week was 524k and this week I am at 583k! Wow! They stopped my dosing since I am over 400k. Go back next week to see and hopefully they don't go any higher. Doc already told me to start taking baby aspirin in the morning. Kinda scary with the possibility of a blood clot or stroke...

wow! those are high numbers! I can understand the baby aspirin! That's the thing with NPlate. It increases the production of platelets so they should be monitering the dosage to keep you from going quite that high. My doc said I shouldn't treat with NPlate with counts over 200. Let us know how it goes.

Great news!

Yeah, ain't it great, not being all bruised and purple and oozy?

Nplate is working for me too.

My counts have been way up there, over 900,000, and I too was put on baby aspirin. My count swings up and down too, I have the tingling and numbness, and "pins and needles" in my hands and feet, joint pain and stiffness, but, these side effects have been slowly decreasing over the last 6 months or so.

Keep some aspirin handy when your counts go ballistic.

Best of luck!
:)

Been another few weeks and it seems like I get 3 shots over 3 weeks all at lowest dose, then 4th week no shot, 5th week no shot. I go back for cbc and they are way down again. Two weeks ago I was at 467,000. I go back Wednesday for a check. Wonder if this pattern will continue.
