Sandy:

I cannot begin to thank you enough for all the help and research you gave to me in fighting the appeal when my insurance company denied Rituxan treatment. I got the letter today that the decision was overturned. I thank God for sending me to you and for answering my many prayers for help. (See text below).

We received a request to pay for Rituxan by Deborah Wilbur, MD, and we notified you on 7/27/10 that your health plan woul dnot pay for the treatment. Dr. Wilbur appealed that decision and the information about your case was sent to an external physician reviewer who is Board Certified in Oncology (who did not review your case the first time) for review.

Based on the information provided, the physician has reversed the original decision and determined that your health plan will pay for Rituxan by Deborah Wilbur, MD, subject to the terms of your health plan.

YEAH!!!!

Platelets are at 60 today. Still low, but not low enough that I have to have treatment yet. BUT, if I need treatment, we now know we can get it!!!!

Thanks so much for this support group, all the postings and information. I am so thankful for all the information provided on this site and the support of all the others with this health issue.

Deb

what a relief for you! I'm so happy for you. But praying also that you won't need to use it!
