10 year splenectomy update was created by divotdiva
Hello all! It's been a LOOOOONNNNGGGGG time since I've stopped by the PDSA website.

I like to check in now and then. I had a splenectomy in December 2000. It has been almost 10 years and I'm here to report that my most recent CBC showed my platelet count holding steady at 300,000. I'm thrilled.

I read stories on this forum about failed splenectomies. I feel truly fortunate that I have been able to live treatment free for nearly 10 years.
