Has your doctor checked to see if you are taking any type of medication that might affect your platelets? I was taking Sinequan to help me sleep (known to lowering your platelets) and once I stopped taking it, my platelets started to go back up--at least they have for the last few months? It's just a thought.

Try to be strong. At least you are not showing signs of bleeding and bruising.

Hello Petra (i wont forget your name because my best friend is a Petra too :) ) I understand how you feel hoping that the platelets will go up. and It can be frustrating living with low numbers but try not o let it consume too much of your life! Keep hoping for the best and I hope your treatment kicks in soon!

Helly everybody,

sorry that I didn't answer earlier.

Nplate started working finally. My counts climbed from below 1000 to 6k, then to 12k and finally to 50k. Unfortunately they dropped back to 10k last week. Don't know why :( Luckily I do not have any side effects.

@ DeeDee Marie:
I do not take any further medication. Only the Nplate (and some vitamins)

Have a good day (and lots of platelets)

Look forward,

will fall behind you!

Hi Petra,
At least your platelets have gone past 1000--and as NPlate starts to kick in, hopefully they will go up further. I think you said that you've lived with low platelets for a while (was it 2 years?), and your body has adjusted; you don't have any signs of serious bleeding. This is really important. Maybe now that you are on NPlate, you will hopefully see better results over time.

Good luck to you Petra; and hopefully you will see better results with NPlate. Please keep us posted.

Petra:

Counts will usually drop back down between treatments. N-Plate is a maintenance drug; that's why it's usually needed every week.

I'm glad that you started to respond well - good luck!

Higher #'s are the point! They just need to adjust the dosage of the NPlate. I hope you keep side effect free!

Hello there :)

My platelets count started to climb again. Today they were at 20.000. Thats promising, i think. I'm now on 8 µg/kg body weight. Still no side effects (a little pain around the injection site, but only for a few hours after injection. I can live with that ;) )

@ Krisy:

I tried Promacta, but unfortunately it didn't work for me.
